Stroud educators and scientists developed and implemented Your Livable Landscape: Cultivating an Ecosystem Esthetic, a collaborative education program that builds on the landscape practices of Longwood Gardens and the science of Stroud Water Research Center. The program teaches Longwood visitors the connections among landscape practices, stormwater runoff, and the mobilization and mineralization of carbon. Through the program, visitors to Longwood Gardens will learn about beautiful landscaping techniques that allow rainwater infiltration, reduce stormwater runoff and sequester carbon.
