Winter is nearly over and that means it’s time to get the Overlook Park riparian buffer looking good for spring! We’ll be mulching the pollinator beds, cutting back dead stems, and labeling plants. There will also be tree shelter maintenance, shrub cage maintenance, and cutting back invasive vines and small shrubs — something for everyone!

The entire event will be held outside. A rain date will be posted if rain is in the forecast.

Please wear:

• Long-sleeved shirts.
• Long pants.
• Close-toed shoes. Rubber boots would be handy for work in wetter spots.
• Work gloves.

Bring these tools if you can:

• Pruning shears and lopping shears for invasives.
• Hammers for stake maintenance.

We have killed much of the poison ivy but some likely remains, though plants will be small this time of year. Bathrooms will be close by at the playground.
