DESCRIPTION:The Stroud Center is a sponsor of the 2019 PAEE Conference. \n\n\n\nWhen: March 18 and 19Where: Renaissance Philadelphia Airport Hotel\, Philadelphia\, PACost: $150-$425 \n\n\n\n\nThe theme of this year’s conference – Cityscapes & Greenscapes – highlights how environmental education intersects and/or spans varied landscapes\, urban\, suburban\, rural\, and green spaces in between. Over the years\, the environmental education space has grown from just “greenscapes\,” to now becoming a foundation for outdoor recreation\, conservation initiatives\, “green” city planning\, STEM education and more — it’s time to highlight these methods of connection through presentations at the conference. \n\n\n\n\nStipends Available\n\n\n\nThe application deadline has passed.  \n\n\n\nStroud Water Research Center is pleased to announce that 17 Pennsylvania K-12 teachers and/or school administrators will be awarded $300.00 stipends to attend the conference. Stipends are available as part of the professional development and outreach initiatives of the NOAA funded (Grant #NA17NMF4570274) Pennsylvania Environmental Literacy and Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEE) Programming Capacity Building project. \n\n\n\nSelected individuals will be notified by February 15. Stipends will be paid after attending the event. Awardees will need to complete a short post-summit online survey in order to receive their stipend. \n\n\n\nQuestions? SUMMARY:Clean Water Conference
DESCRIPTION:A One-Day Conference Highlighting the Brandywine-Christina Watershed\n\n\n\nMendenhall Inn\, Mendenhall\, Pennsylvania\n\n\n\n$25 per person; $10 students (with valid ID). \n\n\n\nAs one of the most historic small watersheds in the nation\, the Brandywine-Christina supplies drinking water to over a half million people in Delaware and Pennsylvania and supports $1.6 billion in annual economic activity and over 100\,000 jobs. \n\n\n\nThis conference will include highlights from the newly released Brandywine-Christina State of the Watershed Report and showcase projects implemented by partners throughout the watershed. Following lunch the conference attendees are invited to attend a field tour to have a first-hand view of innovative agriculture practices and discuss water supply options and strategies for protecting source water in the watershed. The day will wrap up back at the Mendenhall Inn with a reception and networking event. \n\n\n\nNational and regional experts\, Delaware and Pennsylvania legislators and dignitaries\, and watershed stakeholders are encouraged to attend. \n\n\n\nThis event is hosted by the Brandywine-Christina Cluster Partners\, a partnership of six nonprofit organizations\, funded by the William Penn Foundation through the Delaware River Watershed Initiative. \n\n\n\nBrandywine Conservancy ~ Brandywine Red Clay Alliance ~ Natural Lands ~ The Nature Conservancy ~ Stroud Water Research Center ~ University of Delaware
