Join us in empowering today’s girls to become tomorrow’s leaders during COVID-19 and beyond. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCOVID-19 Hybrid Program Structure\n\n\n\nThis special COVID-19 hybrid model will blend online instruction (live Zoom programs and a library of online instructional videos) with remote activities led by families or troops at home or in nearby nature. At the beginning and end of the two-week program\, participants must be able to commute to a to-be-determined community site in the Avondale\, Kennett Square\, Philadelphia\, and/or Lancaster area to pick up and drop off loaner gear and educational materials. Face-to-face experiences will NOT occur between STREAM Girls instructors and STREAM Girls participants; however\, participants are strongly encouraged to complete remote activities at home and in nearby nature with members of their own household and/or pandemic pods while following CDC guidelines. \n\n\n\nIn addition to providing participants with an online library of instructional videos and resources\, our team of educators and anglers will lead three live Zoom sessions that participants are expected to attend: \n\n\n\nSTREAM Girls Zoom Session #1: Friday\, May 7\, 2021\, 6–7:30 p.m. EDTSTREAM Girls Zoom Session #2: Wednesday\, May 12\, 2021\, 7–8 p.m. EDTSTREAM Girls Zoom Session #3: Friday\, May 21\, 2021\, 6–7:30 p.m. EDT\n\n\n\nDue to COVID-19 restrictions\, a limited number of seats are available. We deeply appreciate your understanding if your troop cannot be served this year\, and we look forward to serving all interested groups in future years. \n\n\n\nWant to learn more about this program’s history? Please visit Trout Unlimited’s STREAM Girls page and read our STREAM Girls article. \n\n\n\nQuestions? Contact scoutprograms@stroudcenter.org.

Includes a catered lunch\, snacks\, and refreshments. Act 48 hours will be provided by DCNR-PA State Parks. \n\n\n\nWe all rely on the services provided by our natural world to survive and thrive — and we can all play a role in supporting a healthy and vibrant ecosystem. More than 1\,740\,000 students live and learn in Pennsylvania and the future well-being of our watersheds will soon rest in their hands. \n\n\n\nStakeholders across Pennsylvania are working to support students to graduate with the knowledge and skills to protect and restore their local watershed through the participation in Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEE). MWEEs are learner-centered experiences that focus on investigations into local environmental issues that lead to informed action and civic engagement. \n\n\n\nMWEEs depend on the facilitation and support of both school and non-formal\, field-based educators for the experiences to be holistic and impactful. This workshop will help prepare non-formal environmental education providers to partner with K-12 classroom teachers on an MWEE. \n\n\n\nThis workshop has been designed to provide a deep understanding of the MWEE as a vehicle for advancing environmental literacy and stewardship while increasing standards-based student achievement. \n\n\n\nBonus! The workshop will be paired with an optional second day focused on enhancing your hands-on water education skills. You’ll learn about stormwater and agriculture best management practices and drinking-water chemistry. \n\n\n\n\nFunding made possible through generous B-WET grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA Grant #NA17NMF4570274).\n\n\n\nThese workshops will be facilitated by trainers from Stroud Water Research Center\, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation\, DCNR-Bureau of Pennsylvania State Parks\, Penn State Extension\, and Millersville University.
