SUMMARY:Educator Hidden Gem Canoe Workshop: Discover White Clay Creek!
DESCRIPTION:Audience: Homeschool providers\, classroom teachers\, and non-formal environmental educators. Six hours Act 48 available for Pennsylvania Certified Teachers. A certificate of participation will be provided for teachers outside of Pennsylvania.\n\n\n\nStarting point: White Clay Preserve (exact details will be emailed to participants prior to workshop) Note: Some shuttling of vehicles will happen prior to getting on the water. We will arrange for these details in an email or short (15 minutes) pre-program online video meeting.\n\n\n\nCost: Free. Pre-registration is required. The workshop is limited to 16. \n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Now\n\n\n\n\nDiscover White Clay Creek\n\n\n\nThe White Clay Creek canoe program is a paddle-in-the-present moment\, featuring peaceful sounds of the wild\, connections to water quality\, and time with a hidden gem of the larger Delaware River watershed. We’ll paddle a few miles with many opportunities to take it slow and enjoy the scenery while learning about the importance of this National Wild and Scenic River.  Along the way\, you’ll enjoy the following: \n\n\n\n\nCanoe 101 introduction: no prior experience is necessary! This is an easy stretch of river for first-time paddlers. We’ll provide the canoes\, dry bags\, paddles\, personal flotation devices\, and fun.\n\n\n\nA few shore stops to assess the river’s water quality through chemistry tests and aquatic macroinvertebrate life.\n\n\n\nHistorical and cultural presentations.\n\n\n\nA scavenger hunt.\n\n\n\nWater-related giveaways!\n\n\n\n\nWhat more could you ask for?
