DESCRIPTION:Photo: Eric Newell\, Edith Bowen Laboratory School\n\n\n\n\nWhen: Saturday\, February 7\, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.\n\n\n\nWhere: Stroud Water Research Center\, 970 Spencer Road\, Avondale\, PA 19311. \n\n\n\nAudience: Prekindergarten–fifth grade classroom teachers\, nonformal educators\, before- and after-school instructors\, and childcare professionals. \n\n\n\nAct 48: Up to five hours.\n\n\n\nCost: FREE\, including lunch and educational resources.\n\n\n\nRegistration is limited and closes on February 4. \n\n\n\n\nJoin Us to Explore Strategies and Activities That Engage Young Learners With Science and Nature\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDuring this workshop\, we’ll discuss methods to include environmental education across prekindergarten through fifth-grade settings\, including classrooms\, childcare centers\, and before- and after-school programs. \n\n\n\nParticipants will have hands-on experience with several different environmental education activities and go home with free resource guides and instructional materials. Up to five Act 48 hours will be provided to Pennsylvania-certified teachers.  \n\n\n\nIn this workshop\, you will: \n\n\n\n\nGet hands-on experience with several environmental education activities designed and scaffolded for prekindergarten to fifth-grade students. \n\n\n\nBecome more familiar with teaching tools and strategies to teach about the environment and in the outdoors\, including an introduction to NOAA’s Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience framework. \n\n\n\nReceive a copy of Getting Little Feet Wet: Project WET’s Early Childhood Education Guide\, and take home instructional materials to incorporate more environmental education into your classroom or educational setting. \n\n\n\n\nThis workshop is funded with support from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the North American Association for Environmental Education’s eeBLUE 21st CCLC Watershed STEM Education Partnership Grant Program. \n\n\n\nQuestions?
