Slimy Leaves for Healthy Streams: A Training in the Leaf Pack Network

Participants will receive an overview of stream ecology and watershed concepts based on research done at the Stroud Center. Taking our boots to the stream, we’ll experience hands-on examination of leaf packs with live aquatic macroinvertebrates, including their identification, and take a look at the Leaf Pack Network® website.

This workshop features the new “Getting Little Feet Wet” national curriculum guide from Project WET. We’ll do a handful of the 11 interactive hands-on activities that explore different aspects of water from the guide designed for Pre-K and K-2 educators.

Creek Explorers Camp

Calling all junior nature explorers — the wilderness is calling! Experience forests and streams like never before, through a week-long camp of hands-on discovery. Campers will spend the week conducting real outdoor scientific experiments in the Stroud Center’s experimental watershed, honing their skills at wilderness survival techniques, and having fun with their crew during daily team building games.
