The 2010 Water’s Edge Speaker

200 134 Stroud Water Research Center

Peter Gleick, a MacArthur fellow, member of the National Academy of Sciences, author of the definitive, biennial review of water, The World’s Water, and president and cofounder of the California-based Pacific Institute, was the 2010 Water’s Edge speaker on October 7, 2010 at Longwood Gardens.

Dr. Gleick has relentlessly pursued his vision of a world in which the basic needs of all people are met, the earth’s resources are managed sustainably, the natural world is protected, and water disputes are resolved peacefully and democratically. In recent years, the Institute has brought together conflicting parties in Asia, Central America, and the Middle East to explore ways to cooperate over water.
