Kristine McDivitt Tompkins, surfer girl, former CEO of Patagonia Inc., and “deep ecologist,” was the 2007 Water’s Edge speaker on October 11, 2007 at Longwood Gardens.
Tompkins has received many awards including: the Scenic Hudson’s Visionary Conservationist Award, the African Rainforest Conservancy’s New Species Award, Latin Trade’s “Environmental Leader of the Year” award, and the American Alpine Club’s David Brower Award.
