21st Century Tools Workshop: Model My Watershed

Professional Development Workshop
AUDIENCE: Middle and high school science curriculum coordinators, teachers and coaches; special education coordinators, teachers and coaches; and administrators.
This workshop is a partnership between Stroud Water Research Center and the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU). Participants can receive ACT 48 hours.
COST: Free attendance and ACT 48 hours for CCIU subscribers (Chester County public school district employees); non-subscribers (all other participants) must pay a registration fee if they want ACT 48 hours.
Are you looking for new resources to engage 21st century learners? Do you use PA Core academic standards in Environment & Ecology, and in Science, Technology, & Engineering? Participants will explore new technological tools to support student learning about watersheds, stream health, and water quality. Resources featured in this workshop include the WikiWatershed.org toolkit and the web-based Model My Watershed GIS.
Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops and mobile devices. Laptops will also be provided. There is a related workshop, Water Quality Mobile App: 21st Century Tools, in the afternoon. Participants staying for both the morning and afternoon sessions will only have 30 minutes for lunch. It is recommended to pack a lunch.
Workshop cost is subsidized by the Teaching Environmental Sustainability-Model My Watershed grant from the National Science Foundation.
