Miguel Vivanco, new head cheesemaker at The Farm at Doe Run, visited our campus to talk about life, the Stroud Center, and of course, great cheese.
Clean drinking water, good health, plentiful trout, productive soil, the simple joys of swimming, boating, fishing — our healthy freshwater ecosystems make these and so many other things possible.
Dr. Ho expressed gratitude that the 2021 Stroud Center award highlights the interconnections between agriculture, fresh water, and climate as a critical theme for water conservation and stewardship.
The films began as the sun was setting and the lineup included short films and documentaries produced by independent filmmakers from all over the world.
Participants as far away as Alaska and Hawaii logged 149 hours on the water and raised more than $3,000 to support clean fresh water while enjoying their favorite body of water.
At Water.org, Wickenhauser connected funders to projects that deeply resonated with their unique interests. She hopes to be part of a similar trajectory of impact at Stroud Water Research Center.
The 2022 SAFE Award Recipient is Michael E. Mann, Ph.D., climate change author, Presidential Distinguished Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, and Director of Penn Center for Science, Sustainability, and the Media.
