Presented at The Water’s Edge gala each year since 2011, the Stroud Award for Freshwater Excellence is a prestigious award for outstanding achievement in freshwater-related activities. Honorees represent regions and watersheds from around the world and a broad range of activities, professions, and scientific disciplines.

Cousteau’s Commitment to Fresh Water
Alexandra is the founder and “Chief Water Optimist” of Blue Legacy, a non-profit organization on a mission to empower people to reclaim and restore the world’s water, one community at a time. Blue Legacy explores water issues around the globe and shares those findings through short films as well as mainstream and social media.
Her legendary grandfather, Jacques, and father, Philippe, explored the world’s ocean wonders, but today Alexandra Cousteau explores new ways to save them.
