Blue Skies For Blues, Brews, and BBQ

640 360 Stroud Water Research Center

Despite the ominous weather forecast, Stroud Water Research Center’s Blues, Brews, and BBQ event was held on Saturday, June 11, under blue skies and sunshine at Scarlett Thicket Farm in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.

The courtyard of the historic bank barn was the perfect backdrop for The Rolling Thunder Blues Revue to get guests on their feet dancing. Our Memphis Queen sponsor, Audi of West Chester, had two beautiful cars on display, which a few guests took for a ride around the farm.

Nine local artists’ artworks adorned the walls. These artists had participated in the popular yearly art show Abstractions, which was held at Scarlett Thicket Farm the previous weekend. Artists donated 30 percent of sales made during Blues, Brews, and BBQ to the Stroud Center.

Guests enjoyed a variety of local beers from Victory and Yards, a specialty drink — Stroud Summer Sling — and a great selection of BBQ.

Between the horseshoes, corn hole, great music, and good food, there was fun for attendees of all ages—all while supporting Stroud Water Research Center’s freshwater research, education, and restoration.
