Making Virtual Waves in Watershed STEM Education

800 450 Stroud Water Research Center

Over the last 18 months, through a special grant funded by an eeBLUE partnership, Stroud Water Research Center’s education team has been collaborating with two local Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) to pilot and develop new programs in watershed-focused STEM. The 21st CCLC program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools.

When the COVID-19 pandemic transitioned many of these programs to virtual settings, Stroud Center educators transformed these obstacles into opportunities to meaningfully reach underserved audiences, enhance student learning outcomes, and inspire young leaders to make a difference in their communities.

This past winter, Watershed Education Specialist David Kline shared several of these activities on the eeBLUE blog. Visit the blog to discover tips, tricks, and tools to power your own watershed education programs on the screen and in the stream!
