In the spring of 2019, Stroud Water Research Center and volunteers planted 1,500 trees adjacent to an intermittent swale and tributary of White Clay Creek at the Brandywine Polo Club. The Stroud Center and guests returned to the polo club in July 2021 — this time to enjoy the sport of polo in a private party at the pavilion.
Guests enjoyed food from Natalie’s Food Truck, scrumptious cookies and cupcakes from The Lucky Cupcake Company, and a signature Polo Punch. They also enjoyed learning about the sport of polo from U.S. Open winner and Brandywine Polo Club Pro Martin Estrada prior to the McHugh Consolation Match. The winner of the match was Team Landhope, and our board member, Michael Bucklin was Match MVP.
The bright and cheerful sunflowers were donated by Zena Florist, and the wonderful cookies and cupcakes were donated by The Lucky Cupcake Company. We are grateful to our sponsors: The Four Dogs Tavern and Marshalton Inn, and Rodman and Brooke Moorhead.
