Spotlight on Jessica Provinski

560 292 Stroud Water Research Center

Most people start their day with a cup of coffee, but Jess Provinski starts her day off with a morning horseback ride before heading to Stroud Center.

“Who doesn’t love to throw a good party?” Jessica Provinski asks with such delight you can almost see a twinkle in her eye.

The associate director of special events and corporate relations is the newest member of Stroud Water Research Center’s development team. Her primary responsibility is to host fabulous fundraising events to support the efforts of our researchers, educators, and restoration team.

“I’m eager to expand our event offerings and introduce Stroud Center to new friends and supporters,” she says.

“The quality and scope of Stroud Center’s science, education, and restoration work amazes and inspires me every day. As I continue to learn more about our projects,” she adds with a chuckle, “I’m reminded of times when I zoned out during my chemistry labs in college, and now wish I’d paid a bit more attention.”

A PASSION FOR FUNDRAISING AND EVENT PLANNING

A lifelong Chester County resident, Provinski has long been interested in preserving the region’s natural resources.

Her conservation experience includes work for the Brandywine Conservancy and The Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County. She honed her passion for fundraising and event planning by volunteering for a variety of groups, including 4-H Club, Penn State Dance Marathon (THON), and Books First.

HER COMMUNITY KNOWLEDGE IS THE “ICING ON THE CAKE”

Development Director Kristine Lisi says, “It so wonderful to have Jess here. Her knowledge of the area and members of the community are ‘icing on the cake’ to her enthusiasm and work ethic. Kay [Dixon] and I are just thrilled to have such a go-getter in our department.”

Provinski graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science, dual majoring in biology and German. She was born and raised in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, and now lives with her husband less than a mile from the family farm where she grew up, which makes it convenient for grabbing a missing ingredient for the newest recipe she’s trying.

Most people start their day with a cup of coffee, but she starts her day off with a morning horseback ride before heading to Stroud Center. Provinski’s other interests include hiking, gardening, reading, and bird watching. But during college football season, you’ll find her glued to the TV cheering for the Nittany Lions.
