Diana Oviedo Vargas, Ph.D., is to serve as a trustee of the Nature Conservancy in Pennsylvania and Delaware, the conservancy recently announced. Oviedo is one of four newly elected trustees who will serve three-year terms beginning in March 2023.
Oviedo is an assistant research scientist and principal investigator of the Watershed Biogeochemistry Group at Stroud Water Research Center.
In a statement, Oviedo said, “I am a huge fan of TNC and all the amazing work that they do. I am looking forward to helping in any way I can.”
The Nature Conservancy is one of the Stroud Center’s many partners on watershed restoration, community science, and other work aimed at protecting water quality in streams and rivers.
