Earth Week Volunteers Give Streamside Forest a Helping Hand

800 450 Stroud Water Research Center

Stroud Water Research Center wrapped up Earth Week on a beautiful Friday afternoon by revisiting two streamside tree plantings in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, for spring maintenance.

Volunteers from Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce Young Business Leaders, Voya Financial, and Penn State Master Gardeners helped to straighten tree tubes, replace broken stakes, and pick up trash on two riparian forest buffers along Buck Run Creek.

Read about the installation of one of the plantings, completed in 2017, to see how well the trees have done in four years! If you are interested in learning about upcoming volunteer opportunities, contact Jessica Provinski.
