Daily Local News: Federal stimulus funds are funding basic research on several factors that influence the health of streams.
The Stroud Water Research Center in West Marlborough Township received $690,000 for two studies of water quality issues. One is a study of what effect different levels of phosphorus have on algae and aquatic insects. The second study is on what effect fluctuating water temperatures have on fish and the insect community that fish feed on.
