National Penn Bank began designating Stroud Water Research Center as a recipient of its Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) funds in 2007. Their name may have changed (National Penn Bank to Susquehanna Bank to BB&T), but their continued support has helped us teach thousands of public school students in grades 4 and up about the importance of freshwater stewardship.

BB&T’s support enables the Stroud Center to offer its school programs, field trips, and professional development workshops at no or reduced cost to Pennsylvania public school districts whose budgets might otherwise be unable to provide the innovative educational programs that support their regular curricula.

The Stroud Center’s education department interprets our scientists’ research through multidisciplinary programs oriented to a wide audience. We hope that exposure to our programs and information will motivate participants to become responsible stewards of freshwater resources.
