A few times a year, Stroud Water Research Center provides internships to educate and prepare undergraduates for careers in science and conservation. This fall, Isayas Dorsey has served as our stellar development and communications intern, helping to write copy, assisting at various events, and working with our scientists to create posters to better explain their departments.
“Isayas is willing to jump in to help with a task no matter how large or small, his attention to detail is unparalleled, and he’s done a great job of learning more about the overall work of the Stroud Center by interacting with all of the departments. The Stroud Center has been fortunate to have him as one of our interns,” says Jessica Provinski.
Currently a senior at Delaware State University, Dorsey will graduate this winter with a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications. He says, “I chose this path because I feel like it encompasses a lot of the things I enjoy. I love to write, I love design, and I love layouts and aesthetics.” Indeed, he has done a great job on all three fronts for the Stroud Center. Check out his interview with Doug Tallamy!
Of his internship experience, Dorsey says, “I’ve found myself becoming more of an environmental activist since working for Stroud. Now I see people littering or hurting nature, and it upsets me because I understand what is being affected.”
We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Isayas Dorsey!
