Farmers who joined us for a recent field day saw a demonstration of a drone spreading seeds into a soybean field that will grow into a cover crop, which will help build soil health and protect water quality. By using a drone, farmers can avoid crushing the existing crop under the weight of a tractor. See the demo for yourself in this video! Our thanks to Jim Hershey, a no-till farmer and president of the Pennsylvania No-Till Alliance, for hosting the field day at his farm in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
