Citizen science engages people from all backgrounds in the scientific process, empowering them to help solve environmental problems in their communities.
Stroud Center staff took a road trip to Michigan to train citizens and volunteers to use lower-cost, do-it-yourself technologies to monitor water quality.
We’ll demonstrate site features and functionality and cover how this open educational resource can be used to support macroinvertebrate identification training with volunteers and students to improve confidence, accuracy, and engagement.
This new 100-level workshop will focus on abiotic and biotic stream characteristics in natural, urban, and agricultural settings.
Participants will receive an overview of stream ecology and watershed concepts based on research done at the Stroud Center.
