Squeals of delight echoed through the woods as children, along with their parents, got up-close glimpses of some fish species living in White Clay Creek, Stroud Water Research Center’s study stream.
The electrofishing station was a highlight for the more than 70 people who attended the World Water Day event.
Visitors to the Stroud Center’s campus in Avondale, Pennsylvania, also explored aquatic macroinvertebrates, listened to readings of the Creek Critters children’s picture book, planted native shrubs and trees, explored the new stream tables, and simulated stormwater runoff with partners at White Clay Creek State Park.
Check out the photos taken by staff and by volunteer photographer David Hucker, and be sure to read the recap from Green Philly.
Save the date to join us on March 22, 2024 as we celebrate World Water Day again.
