This workshop features the new “Getting Little Feet Wet” national curriculum guide from Project WET. We’ll do a handful of the 11 interactive hands-on activities that explore different aspects of water from the guide designed for Pre-K and K-2 educators.
Registrants who demonstrate proficiency at the three-day workshop, Identification of Ontario’s Benthic Invertebrate Families, are encouraged to take the taxonomic certification exam.

This new 100-level workshop will focus on abiotic and biotic stream characteristics in natural, urban, and agricultural settings.
Participants will receive an overview of stream ecology and watershed concepts based on research done at the Stroud Center. Taking our boots to the stream, we’ll experience hands-on examination of leaf packs with live aquatic macroinvertebrates, including their identification, and take a look at the Leaf Pack Network® website.
Enjoy cocktails at the beautiful and historic Lucky Hill Farm before taking a short hike with Stroud Center scientists to the Stroud Preserve to learn about a six-year project in partnership with the Rodale Institute.
The theme for this user group meeting will be using Monitor My Watershed. All sensor station users in the Delaware River Basin are welcome to attend.
The SAFIT workshop this year will focus on the aquatic Hemiptera/Heteroptera and will be presented by Dan Polhemus of the Bishop Museum, Honolulu, Hawaii.
