Did you know that creeping, crawling insects can tell scientists if a stream is clean? Or that one crafty critter smaller than your pinky finger can spin silk stickier than most spider webs? Girl Scout Brownies, get your boots wet this Halloween weekend to learn more and earn your Bugs Badge at the Stroud Center! Explore stream habitats studied year-round by bug scientists, discover wriggling “stream bugs” (aquatic macroinvertebrates) that call those waters home, and create a model bug that will make you as “crafty as a caddisfly”! Stream boots provided for all boots-in-the-water activities.

All participants of all ages, including youth and adult chaperones, are required to sign and submit the Stroud Center’s Liability Waiver either by email or the day of the program. Registrants will be emailed more information on the waiver, including a handout of program expectations and what to wear, by GSEP approximately one week prior to the program.
