Earth Week Volunteering

A volunteer from Exelon plants a tree in a new riparian buffer.

Help us plant trees for clean water on a tributary of Brandywine Creek in Birmingham Township! We have an entire week of opportunities lined up — if you don’t see an opportunity below that fits your schedule, email Jessica Provinski for other options.

Layout Day 

Help us place trees, stakes, and tubes in the appropriate spots to prepare for planting!

  • Wear: Sturdy waterproof shoes and long pants.
  • Bring (if possible): Work or gardening gloves.

Tree Planting Day

We’ll be planting 600 trees for healthy streams. Come help us plant eight different species of trees. Families welcome!

  • Wear: Sturdy waterproof shoes and long pants.
  • Bring (if possible): Work or gardening gloves, shovels with pointed tips, hammers.

Tree Planting Wrap-Up and Stone Mulching Day

Today’s the day to ensure the success of the tree planting for years to come. Help us put on bird nets, apply stone mulch to the base of the trees, and make sure that everything is cleaned up. Families welcome!

  • Wear: Sturdy waterproof shoes and long pants.
  • Bring (if possible): Work or gardening gloves, shovels with pointed tips, hammers.
