Interests and Expertise
I am interested in studying our natural world and sharing this enthusiasm with others. My interest in nature led me to degrees in biology, forest soils, soybean tillage trail research, and studies of underground root growth and soil pests. In Delaware, I worked on the field crew updating the Natural Resources Conservation Service Soil Survey. With three sons to raise and educate, I pursued a degree in Montessori education and worked as an upper elementary teacher with a focus on science and math. I work as a part-time outdoor educator for the Delaware Nature Society as well as for Stroud™ Water Research Center. My teaching mantra is “I do and I understand.”
