Stream Care Workday

2022 Lancaster Water Week Stream Care Workday
  • When: Saturday, June 4, 2022, 9-11 a.m.
  • Where: Multiple locations in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
  • Cost: Free. Registration is required.

Help take care of our streamsides across Lancaster County! We will be planting trees, weeding, and tending to native plantings.

Lancaster County has 1,400 miles of streams and rivers. Taking care of our streamside forests (riparian buffers) protects the quality of the water we drink, provides food and habitat for wildlife, preserves nearby wetlands, and replenishes our groundwater. Join the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and other community partners to protect our clean water as we tend these streamside forests!

Visit the registration page for more information, including locations, age restrictions, and safety and weather policies.

What is Lancaster Water Week?
Now in its sixth year, Lancaster Water Week celebrates the 1,400 miles of streams and rivers in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. These cricks and creeks are the source of our drinking water, drive economic and agricultural growth, and allow us to escape into nature to fish, paddle, and swim. Many of these beautiful streams are polluted, but there is an incredible effort underway to bring them back to health in our lifetime. Learn more
