Avondale, Pa. – On Thursday, February 12th, 2009, the Stroud™ Water Research Center, will host the nationally acclaimed Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival. Presented nationally by Patagonia, Inc. and sponsored locally by outdoor gear purveyor, Trail Creek Outfitters, this environmental film festival is designed to educate, entertain and inspire. The evening of award-winning animations, documentaries and independent films will cover the gamut of environmental issues, and in keeping with the Stroud Water Research Center’s focus, will include several films based on the theme of fresh water.

“We’re lucky to have the Stroud Water Research Center in our back yard so sponsoring the environmental film festival is just our way of saying thanks and supporting their work,” said Ed Camelli, cofounder of Trail Creek Outfitters. “Their freshwater research and watershed education programs are important, not just to our community, but to the world at large.”

“We couldn’t be more thrilled that Trail Creek Outfitters approached us again this year to host The Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival,” said Lynn Biddle, Director of Development for the Stroud Water Research Center. “As the largest traveling festival of its kind in North America, it provides us with an incredible opportunity to introduce new audiences to what we do.”

Local sponsors include: Mayfly Club, SIW Vegetables, Trail Creek Outfitters, Talula’s Table.

Tickets are $15 and all proceeds benefit the Stroud Water Research Center.
